Wednesday!

Christmas is in a week! That is very hard to believe, but I am so excited to spend time with family again. We are going to New York for a few days next week to spend with Chad's family and then on Friday we will be heading to New Carlisle to spend the weekend with my family. Chad is going to snowboard with his brothers while I relax and get a much wanted massage!
We haven't really done much else with the house lately aside from tear out more drywall :( However, my dad is coming up here this weekend to help chad and I will be heading down to new carlisle to hang out with my mom since she can't come with dad on friday.
As far as the baby update goes, I am now 25 weeks and feeling pregnant. sleeping is becoming a new issue for me. I wake up often and am having to put a pillow under my belly b/c it is starting to not be so comfortable anymore. I feel it in the afternoon the most. I just want to lay down and take a nap. But around the time when I get home, I have a little more energy. Also, my appetite has increased a bit. I have noticed that I am hungry when I get home from work and I normally can't wait for chad to get home to eat...so I snack and end up not even being hungry when he is ready to eat, but that a few hours later (around 9 or 10) I get hungry again :)
At my appointment last week, everything went and looked good. I am measuring a little big, so this little guy is telling us that right now, he is not so little. He had better slow down or come early enough so I don't have to push out a huge baby! I'm not quite prepared for that.
I have started a registry for the baby at target and babies r us, but we are still adjusting them and are missing a lot of stuff. It's so hard to know what to put on there without getting overwhelmed! It's quite a bit different than registering for a wedding.
One more thing that's getting harder is getting up from soft cushy seating. Chad now has the job of helping me get up...which i never thought I'd get to that point so early, but my balance is definitely off!
I think that's it for tonight! I'm ready to lay down on the floor and take a nap until chad is done with the call!
hope everybody has a merry Christmas!

short

Well, its 10pm and I'm ready to go home, but we are still at Chad's work. I just got done putting an Arbonne order in and emailing people and updating our budget.
The breaker box is officially in! Yay! however, there is still a little bit of wiring to do. I don't have pictures yet, but I will at some point.
Anyway, it's time to go and I am exhausted!

No More Fuses!

We are getting our Fuse Box replaced today with a breaker box! Woohoo! It's about time! After many blown fuses and money flushed down the toilet to replace these fuses, we will no longer have to worry abut blowing a fuse!
I'll let you know how it goes and of course post pictures of our new addition to the house. You are probably not as excited as I am, but this is HUGE!

Better Late Than Never

I told some that I would have pictures posted last night when Chad and I went to his work for the China call. However, Chad informed me last night when he got home that there was no China call, therefore no pictures!
So now I will update and post pictures today :) I have great news! We found an electrician that is going to change our service from fuses to breakers for an awesome price! I was helping with directory pictures at work and my friend who was taking the photos sent me an email saying that a guy came in for his pictures and through conversation she found out he was an electrician and he has been looking for work. So she gave me his name and number so we could contact him. Well, I called him yesterday morning and to my surprise he called me back about an hour later. You have to understand that up here in Bryan, it is almost impossible to get anybody to call you back. It took Chad 3 times to get ahold of the cable guy and we have called 3 previous electricians, one which actually showed up after we called twice. Needless to say I was impressed and shocked. To top that off, he agreed to show up that night (last night) to give us a quote. He was going to Goshen, IN yesterday so he wasn't sure what time he could make it.

He ended up coming at 5:30 and gave us an incredible quote of $500, which was what he called a "worst case scenerio" since we already have some of the materials. Our other quote was for $850...so I am thrilled. Plus he agreed to come out sometime next week before Thanksgiving but if he couldn't do that he would come out the second week in December. Side note: he is a deer hunter and will be hunting during gun season the week after Thanksgiving, which is why there is the gap of time.

So to make a long story short, No More Blown Fuses for the Clarks!

Ok, now onto the pictures after that long story: Ultrasound pics first!
This is a "boy" shot and a profile

Pic of his spine, bottom of his feet and yet another "boy" shot :)

One of my favorites aside from the feet shot are these, a profile and the one on the bottom showing him sucking his thumb :)

Me at 21 weeks...it's starting to come out now...
Chad after sanding the drywall-proof that we are making progress
Greta wearing a mask to protect her from the dust!

Well, that's all for now! I'll hopefully update later :)

It's about time

So it has been quite a while since the last post, unfortunately, the house still looks the same. However, we have done some behind the scenes work on it the past few weeks.
But first, I will update you on what's been happening in our lives since the last post in July. As many of you know, Chad and I left to go on vacation out in Colorado in the middle of August. We had a blast hiking and hanging out. We hiked one of the 14'ers the second or third day we were there, and it did us both in. On the way up the mountain, we were stopping almost every 10' to catch our breath. It was brutal! We got out there at sunrise so we could finish before the afternoon. I think round trip, it took us 5.5 hours to finish, which isn't too bad! It was completely worth hiking through snow and ice to get to the top and see the amazing view. Of course, I forgot to bring the camera AGAIN so I don't have any pictures to upload onto the blog. Hopefully I'll get to do that soon b/c it was gorgeous. We did a lot of hiking around the area, biking, and playing disc golf. It was a great and much needed vacation. However, getting there was a bit dramatic. We scheduled a flight out of Chicago and the plan was to drive my car to my aunt's house and spend the night and they would take us to the airport in the morning. Well, the day before we were suppose to drive out there, my car's clutch went out...well, that was just fantastic. So we had to resort to driving the mach...chad's 88 buick. The only problem with the Mach is that the suspension had seperated a few weeks earlier...so chad had to rig up a hook to hold the car together as we drove out.
We made it safely to Chicago with no real issues. So we get to the airport the following morning an hour before our flight was supposed to take off. As we were going through security, I was called aside and the security lady asked me if I had anything sharp in my bag. I was of course caryring chad's hunting bag which i thought we had emptied out. So I said, "Not that I know of." So they proceded to check my bag and low and behold, they pull out an 8" blade...Great...just great. Well, they went and got another security guy, he took the knife to make a photo of it and they were about to let us go when he came back and asked the lady if she checked the rest of our bag. Well, of course she didn't. So they go rooting again and wouldn't you know it they pull out a shot gun shell. At this point, I am sobbing b/c we were going to miss our flight and the vacation was ruined. However, it turned out that we just had to have a little chat with the Chicago PD in their office at the airport. They took the items, filled out some info and made sure that we didn't have any warrants out or whatever and let us go in 15 minutes...amazing. We made our flight by the skin of our teeth...actually with a little time so I could get something to eat. I am of course exhausted from the sobbing. One of the officers even looked at me and was like, you need to stop that, you are making me feel bad!
So, all that drama and we still made it to Colorado on time and in one piece!
So that was our vacation in a nutshell...pic's to be posted later.
Now onto the house news...I HAVE LIGHTS IN MY KITCHEN!!! It has been since May that i have had lights in there! I have been literally cooking and cleaning by the light over my stove...which doesn't work real well when you are trying to clean dishes in the sink about 10' away! Chad and his dad did a lot of wiring this past weekend to accomplish that feat. We still have a little bit to go and we still need to have our fuse box changed out. Some very nice guys from our church said they would come out and do it soon for us. So hopefully that gets done before too long. Boy it would be nice to be part of the 21st century.
The real issue though is getting the house mainly done by March...So that way it is ready for Baby Boy Clark!
I think most everybody knows now that we are having a baby...but in case you didn't know, now you do! (for those millions of you who read these things)
I am on my 19th week right now and we have an ultrasound in a week. My due date is April 1st..............................
APRIL FOOLS! no seriously, it's true. It will be fun though to pull those April Fool's jokes on people. We'll see how many people we can fool!
So far we have quite a few clothes from very generous people at work and some that grandma Clark bought for him (hopefully it's a him...at least that's what we saw at mom's work!)
So anyway, that is the not so quick update! Hopefully I'll stay more up-to-date on this thing and post some awesome pics!

Pictures!!!!

I finally have pictures to post! Above shows how hard Dad and Chad are working to put drywall up in the kitchen...YAY for walls!

Here's mom working hard...letting the guys know what to do :)
The finished product!

And the worn out work crew...so funny...they crashed pretty much right away. what hard workers!

anyway, I will post more pics later on. Last pic of the day are the flowers outside the house. I will hopefully get more pics up soon so you can see all of the house and not just the newly drywalled kitchen!

Life keeps going :)

When you buy a house and it needs some aesthetic remodeling, that's doable...but when you buy a house and the electric needs to be redone...you might as well burn it down and collect the insurance! That would be way easier and a whole lot faster than trying to run/pull wires through a mess of tiny drilled out holes and mazes not even a rat could conquer!
Chad and I...ok, mainly Chad, has been working on rewiring our entire house. This has been quite a chore to say the least. We've had many weekends and week nights where I've had to dodge flying objects when patience has worn out!
However, we are making a lot of progress in this area! There is only a little bit of wiring (which will take a long time still :) ) but at least we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are now completely done including the installation of 2 new ceiling fans, one with a remote..which is another story in and of itself. I am so excited to finally have light in our bedroom. Hopefully the next room that gets such an extravagance will be the kitchen. You can work only so long with just the stove light.
However, this means that we are closer to painting and putting flooring down! I brought my camera to upload some pics of the house, however, when I plugged it into the computer...there was no battery. So hopefully next time I'll get some pictures posted!
On other terms, Nicole and I are trying to work out a time to do an Arbonne event down by my parents in New Carlisle. I am still hanging on to the Arbonne dream and one day, it is going to come true for me and I will be sure to let you all know when it does :)
Well, I'm tired and can't think of much else to post at 9:30 pm sitting at Chad's work.
The next really exciting event in our lives is a trip to Colorado in August. I will be sure to post pics of that awesome vacation :)

coming along!

Our house is finally coming along! My parents came up this past weekend so Dad could help Chad do some work and to celebrate birthdays and mom and dad's day. Chad and Dad were able to finish putting up the drywall in the kitchen...so all we have left to do in there is to sand it and mud it and sand it and mud and sand it and mud it.....etc. you get the picture! but it feels like we are finally getting somewhere. I promise i will post pictures later when i have more time.
as for now...i am listening to an Arbonne training...so i must quit and write later!

First...of hopefully many

Well, this is my second attempt at blogging. Hopefully this will keep Chad and I connected to all of our friends and family across the US and the world. If we had all the time and money in the world, we would love to come visit you all, however, that is not possible, so I think this is the next best thing to stay connected and updated.
As I get used to all of this, I hope to add pictures and other interesting stuff. Hopefully we will get internet at our house again in the future so I don't have to do this at work or at Chad's work late into the night while he is on conference calls! I guess we'll have to get a computer first though!
I hope you all enjoy reading about this time in our lives! I'll try not to make it too boring!
